कार्यशाला का मुख्य विषय लैंगिंक समानता एवं नव निर्वाचित महिला प्रतिनिधियों का वास्तविक एवं व्यवहारिक स्तर पर सामाजिक एवं प्रशासनिक कार्यो में भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करना था। कार्यक्रम में जिला पंचायती राज पदाधिकारी वीनीत कुमार, जिला जन सम्पर्क पदाधिकारी दिनेश कुमार, डीपीओ आईसीडीएस चाँदनी सिंह, जिला पंचायत संसाधन केन्द्र के पदाधिकारी के साथ-साथ जागोरी संस्था के निदेशक जयश्री वैलंकर, आगा खान फाउंडेशन के समन्वयक काजल चौरसिया उपस्थित रही।
जिला जन सम्पर्क पदाधिकारी कहा कि आगा खान फाउंडेशन सामाजिक आर्थिक क्षेत्र में विशेष कर महिला सशक्तिकरण को लेकर काफी पहले से सराहनीय कार्य करते रहे। उन्होनें महिलाओं को वास्तविक रूप से समाज और प्रशासन के विभिन्न कार्यो में भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करने के लिए उन्हें अधिक से अधिक जागरूक और उनका उत्साहवर्धन करने की आवश्यकता है। उनके बीच अवेयर लाने के लिए तमाम माध्यमों से प्रचार-प्रसार कर उन्हें जागरूक किया जा रहा है।
जिला पंचायती राज पदाधिकारी ने कहा कि पंचायतों के विकास में इनकी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका रही है। स्वाच्छता, स्वास्थ, शिक्षा सभी क्षेत्रों में महिलाएं आगे बढ़कर अपना योगदान दे रही है। जिला कार्यक्रम पदाधिकारी आईसीडीएस ने भी कहा कि लैंगिक भेद-भाव सुदूर ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में देखने को मिलती है। जिसे आप लोगों के माध्यम से इस भेद-भाव को समाप्त किया जा सकता है। महिलाएं आज संसाधन एवं अवसर को पाकर पुरूष से कही आगे निकल रही है।
निदेशक जागोरी ने कहा कि गांव में आम सभा करने से पूर्व महिलाओं की विशेष सभा बुलानी चाहिए जिससे कि उनके बीच आत्म विश्वास आ सके और अपनी बात सामान्य आम सभा में रख सके। इसे पूर्व सभी अतिथियों को पौधा देकर भी सम्मानित किया गया।
