नेपाल में संसद व विधानसभा सदस्यों के लिए मतदान रविवार यानी आज होगा। इस मतदान में संसद के 275 और विधानसभा के 550 सदस्यों का चुनाव किया जाएगा। जिसमें 1.79 करोड़ मतदाता अपने मताधिकार का प्रयोग करेंगे। चुनाव के मद्देनजर सुरक्षा एजेंसियां सतर्क हैं। भारत-नेपाल सीमा को सील करते हुए चौकसी बढ़ा दी गयी है। सीमा पर आवागमन पूरी तरह बंद कर दिया गया है।
सीमा सील होने के बाद भी सरकार ने खाद्यान्न,पेट्रोलियम सहित कुछ अन्य जरुरी सामग्रियों के लिए सीमा पर छूट दी गयी है। इस चुनाव को लेकर इंडो-नेपाल सीमा पर की गई कड़ाई के चलते सीमावर्ती बाजारों में सन्नाटा देखने को मिल रहा है।
आज आधी रात तक सीमा सील रहेगी। महराजगंज जनपद से सटी 84 किलोमीटर सीमा पर निगरानी बढ़ा दी गयी है। दोनों देशों की सीमा सुरक्षा बल ने पेट्रोलिंग बढ़ा दी है। सीमा पर स्थित गांवों में रहने वाले लोगों के आवागमन पर विशेष ध्यान रखा जा रहा है। भारत-नेपाल सीमा गुरुवार की मध्य रात्रि से ही सील कर दी गयी है। आज मध्य रात्रि तक सीमा सील रहेगी।
नेपाल में होने वाले चुनाव को लेकर प्रशासन ने सभी तैयारियां पूरी कर ली हैं। नेपाल के कई पहाड़ी व हिमालयी क्षेत्रों में कर्मचारियों को मतदान कराने के लिए एक हफ्ते तक का समय लग गया है। कुछ ऐसे भी मतदान केंद्र हैं जहां मतदाताओं को जाने में तीन से चार घंटे तक का समय भी लगेगा।
