बिहार में भाई बहन के प्यार को समर्पित रुद्र व्रत यानि पीड़िया का त्योहार गुरुवार को मनाया जायेगा. इस त्योहार को खास बनाने के लिए भाई व बहनों ने तैयारी कर रखी है. देश में हर रिश्ते के लिए एक त्योहार है. इनमें भाई-बहन के लिए तो कई त्योहार मनाये जाते हैं. इन त्योहारों में प्रत्येक वर्ष अगहन शुक्ल पक्ष एकम को मनाया जाने वाला रुद्रव्रत पीड़िया का अपना महत्व है. पौराणिक कथाओं में इसका महत्व प्राचीन काल से ही बताया जाता है. ज्योतिषाचार्य संजीत कुमार मिश्रा कहते हैं कि बोलचाल की भाषा में पीड़िया के नाम से प्रचलित रुद्रव्रत को ज्यादातर लड़कियां ही करती हैं. इस व्रत के माध्यम से अपने भाइयों की खुशहाली, लंबी उम्र, सुख समृद्धि की कामना करती हैं. इसमें रात भर जागकर पीड़ियों के गीतों के माध्यम से ही पूजा का विधान है.
गोवर्धन पूजा से होती है व्रत की शुरूआत
पीड़िया व्रत की शुरुआत गोवर्धन पूजा के दिन से ही हो जाती है. गोवर्धन पूजा के गोबर से ही घर के दीवारों पर छोटे-छोटे पिंड के आकार में लोक गीतों के माध्यम से पीड़िया लगायी जाती है. इस दौरान लड़कियां घर की बुजुर्ग महिलाओं से अन्नकूट से कार्तिक चतुर्दशी तक छोटी कहानी व कार्तिक पूर्णिमा से अगहन अमावस्या तक सुबह स्नान कर बड़ी कहानी सुनती है. व्रत के दिन छोटी बड़ी दोनों कथाएं सुनती हैं. इस व्रत में नये चावल व गुड़ का रसियाव बनाया जाता है. जिसे व्रती दिन भर उपवास रहने के बाद शाम को सोरहिया के साथ ग्रहण करती हैं.
भाई की सलामती के लिए सोरहिया धान निगलने की परंपरा
पीड़िया व्रत करने वाली बहनें भाई की सलामती के लिए सोरहिया धान निगलती है. खास बात ये है कि धान की संख्या भाइयों की संख्या के अनुसार होती है. व्रत रखने वाली लड़की के जितने भाई होते हैं, उसी संख्या के हिसाब से प्रति भाई 16 धान से चावल निकालकर वो सोरहिया निगलती है. व्रत के बाद पिंड को सुबह तालाब या नदी, पोखरों में पीड़िया के पारंपरिक गीतों के साथ बड़े ही उत्साह से विसर्जित करती हैं.
