राष्ट्रकवि दिनकर का जन्म स्थान होने के कारण एक सांस्कृतिक तीर्थ का स्वरूप ग्रहण कर चुके सिमरिया में दिनकर जी की स्मृति को समर्पित एक भव्य संग्रहालय और स्मारक का निर्माण उन्होंने करवाया था. साहित्यिक-सांस्कृतिक उन्नयन के कार्यों और अपनी रचनात्मक अभिरुचियों को मूर्त रूप देने की दिशा में वे आज भी निरन्तर सक्रिय रहे.
प्रो राय ने कहा कि राष्ट्रकवि दिनकर के जन्मजयंती की पूर्व संध्या पर ये दुखद समाचार शोकाकुल करने वाला है. प्रो राय ने कहा केदार नाथ सिंह के निधन से साहित्य जगत को अपूरणीय क्षति हुई है. आंका सूरज-बांका सूरज सहित कई चर्चित कविता की पुस्तकों की उन्होंने रचना की. शोक सभा में दिवंगत आत्मा के सम्मान में 2 मिनट का मौन भी रखा गया.
