मुजफ्फरपुर, लंगट सिंह कॉलेज में कॉलेज के पूर्व प्राध्यापक प्रो अवधेश्वर अरुण के निधन पर शोकसभा आयोजित की गयी. वक्ताओं ने प्रो अरुण के व्यक्तित्व और कृतित्व पर प्रकाश डाला. प्राचार्य प्रो ओमप्रकाश राय ने शोक संतप्त परिवार के प्रति अपनी संवेदना व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि प्रो अवधेश्वर अरुण के निधन से महाविद्यालय परिवार के साथ ही हिंदी साहित्य जगत को बड़ी क्षति हुई है.
प्रो राय ने कहा की प्रो अरुण न सिर्फ हिंदी के प्रकांड विद्वान थे साथ ही बज्जिका साहित्य के सम्पोषण और संवर्धन में उनकी महती भूमिका रही. हिंदी साहित्य में अनेक उत्कृष्ट कृतियों के साथ ही बज्जिका रामायण उनकी एक ऐतिहासिक कृति है. प्रो अरुण लंगट सिंह कॉलेज के हिंदी विभाग में 1960 से 1980 तक 20 वर्षो तक प्राध्यापक रहे. प्रो अरुण एक उत्कृष्ट शिक्षाविद होने के साथ ही एक कुशल प्रशासक भी थे तथा सदैव छात्रों के मार्गदर्शन के लिए सदैव तत्पर रहते थे.
अपनी श्रद्धांजलि देते हुए हिंदी विभाग के प्राध्यापक प्रो राजीव झा ने कहा की उनकी एक कृति गीत शारदे में सैंकड़ों गीत मां सरस्वती को समर्पित है और यह संयोग ही है की उनकी मृत्यु सरस्वती पूजन दिवस पर हुई. उनके निधन से हिंदी और बज्जिका साहित्य जगत को अपूरणीय क्षति हुई है. सभा में 2 मिनट का मौन भी रखा गया.
