मुजफ्फरपुर में बढ़ते कोरोना संक्रमण के मामले को लेकर जिला प्रशासन के द्वारा शानिवार और रविवार को पुर्ण लॉकडाउन की घोषणा के अनुसार शहर के विभिन्न चौक चौराहों पर जिला पुलिस की सख्ती देखी गई. मुजफ्फरपुर जिले में लॉकडाउन का पालन कराने शनिवार की सुबह ही पुलिस व प्रशासनिक अधिकारी दल-बल के साथ सड़कों पर उतर गए। बेवजह बाइक लेकर घूमने वालों पर जमकर पुलिस का डंडा चला।
सरैयागंज टावर, गोला रोड, मिठनपुरा, ब्रह्मपुरा, माड़ीपुर, कलमबाग रोड, रेवा रोड और भगवानपुर में सख्त रवैया अपनाया गया। कार सवार लोगों की भी खबर ली गई। पुलिस कार्रवाई से इन इलाकों में अफरातफरी मची रही। सुबह नौ बजे के बाद सभी थानेदारों को एसएसपी जयंतकांत ने सड़क पर उतरकर लॉकडाउन का सख्ती से पालन कराने का निर्देश दिया।
सिटी एसपी नीरज कुमार सिंह, एसडीओ पूर्वी डॉ. कुंदन कुमार और नगर डीएसपी रामनरेश पासवान भी स्वयं अलग-अलग क्षेत्रों में जायजा लेने निकल पड़े. उस रास्ते से आने-जाने वाले सभी वाहन सवारों को रोका गया। बहाना बनाने वालों पर डंडे भी बरसाए गए। सभी थाना क्षेत्रों से करीब चार दर्जन से अधिक वाहनों को जब्त किया गया। इसमें बाइक, चरपहिया और ऑटो भी थे. गोला रोड मे एक चावल दुकानदार का दुकान भी सील किया गया !
