मुजफ्फरपुर, बिहार विधानसभा चुनाव का तीसरा और आखिरी चरण का वोटिंग कल शनिवार 7 नवंबर को होगा. 15 जिले के 78 विधानसभा सीटों पर मतदान होना है जिसे लेकर 33,782 मतदान केंद्र बनाए गए है. सबसे ज्‍यादा 28 प्रत्याशी मुजफ्फरपुर विधानसभा क्षेत्र से हैं. सबसे कम 9 प्रत्याशी जोकीहाट, बहादुरगंज, त्रिवेणीगंज और ढाका विधानसभा सीट से चुनावी मैदान में है. इस अंतिम चरण के मतदान में राजद के सबसे अधिक 46, कांग्रेस के 25, भाकपा माले के 5, जदयू के 37, भाजपा के 35, वीआईपी के 5 और हम के एक प्रत्याशी मैदान में हैं। वही मुजफ्फरपुर नगर विधानसभा क्षेत्र में इसबार राजनीति के दो पुराने धुरंधर खिलाड़ी चुनाव मैदान में ताल ठोक रहे हैं। एक तरफ एनडीए के भाजपा प्रत्याशी, नगर विकास एवं आवास मंत्री सुरेश कुमार शर्मा हैं तो दूसरी ओर महागठबंधन से कांग्रेसी उम्मीदवार विजेन्द्र चौधरी। इन दोनों उम्मीदवारों से क्षेत्र के मतदाताओं को शिकवे-शिकायत भी कम नहीं है. हालांकि तीसरे विकल्प के रूप मे पल्लवी सिन्हा का नाम भी जोरो पे है. लेकिन ठोस विकल्प के रूप मे जनता के बीच शायद वो अपना मुकाम नहीं बना पा रही है. इसलिए विजेंद्र चौधरी और सुरेश शर्मा मे ही कांटे की टक्कर हो रही है.

मुजफ्फरपुर नगर विधानसभा से 6 निर्दलीय समेत 28 उम्मीदवार चुनाव मैदान मे डटे हुए हैं। इसबार यहां से भाजपा के सुरेश कुमार शर्मा ,कांग्रेस के विजेन्द्र चौधरी, एसयूसीआई (कम्युनिस्ट) से अरविन्द कुमार चौधरी, द प्लुरल्स पार्टी से पल्लवी सिन्हा, भारतीय बज्जिकांचल पार्टी से कुमारी जयप्रभा, लोकचेतना दल से धनवंती देवी, राष्ट्रवादी कांग्रेस से विभूति प्रियम, सजद डेमोक्रैटिक से संजय कुमार, डेमोक्रैटिक पार्टी से कुमार हर्ष, रिपब्लिक पार्टी आफ इंडिया से धर्मेन्द्र कुमार गुप्ता, जनतांत्रिक विकास पार्टी से रामबाबू साह, बज्जिकांचल विकास पार्टी से रामबाबू साह, जन अधिकार पार्टी लोकतांत्रिक से रवि अटल, जनतादल राष्ट्रवादी से मनोज कुमार, बहुजन मुक्ति पार्टी से रामधनी महतो, भारतीय पार्टी लोकताऔत्रिक से मोहम्मद अमीन, बहुजन अघारी वंचित से कुमारेश्वर सहाय, लोकतांत्रिक जनतादल से अविनाश कुमार, जनतादल सेक्युलर से अमररूप कुमार, भारतीय संयुक्त किसान पार्टी से कुंदन कुमार, समग्र उत्थान पार्टी से राजेश्वर प्रसाद और भारत निर्माण पार्टी से शिवा बिहारी सिंचानिया के अलावे निर्दलीय प्रवीणजीत पुष्कर, सुरेश कुमार गुप्ता, देवानन्द सिंह, पप्पु कुमार, अजय कुमार एवं नकी अहमद चुनाव मैदान में किस्मत आजमा रहे हैं।

जिनके भाग्य का फैसला 3 लाख 21 हजार 959 मतदाता करेंगे. जिसमे 1 लाख 89 हजार 509 पुरुष और 1 लाख 52 हजार 437 महिला मतदाता हैं। थर्ड जेन्डर मतदाताओं की संख्या 13 हैः
