शारदीय नवरात्र के अष्टमी तिथि के अवसर पर कन्या पुजन किया गया। ब्रह्मपुरा लक्ष्मी चौक स्थित फलित दर्शन ज्योतिष अनुसंधान केंद्र में गुरुवार के दिन में माँ के नव स्वरूपों का पूजन, नव कन्याओं के रूप में किया गया.
शारदीय नवरात्र में देवी के दर्शन करने और नौ दिन तक व्रत करने का पुण्य फल की प्राप्ति केवल कन्या पूजन से ही मिल जाती है। शस्त्रों में कन्या पूजन का बहुत ही महत्व है। दो वर्ष से लेकर 11 वर्ष तक की कन्या पूजन का विधान है। दो वर्ष की कुमारी, तीन वर्ष की त्रिमूर्ति, चार वर्ष की कल्याणी, पाँच वर्ष की रोहिणी, छः वर्ष की बालिका, सात वर्ष की चंडिका, आठ वर्ष की शाम्भवी, नौ वर्ष की दुर्गा और दस वर्ष की कन्या सुभद्रा कहलाती है।
सभी शुभ कार्यों का फल प्राप्त करने के लिए कन्या पूजन किया जाता है। कुमारी पूजन से सम्मान, लक्ष्मी, विद्या और तेज प्राप्त होता है। इससे विघ्न, भय और शत्रुओं का नाश भी होता है। होम, जप और दान से देवी इतनी प्रसन्न नहीं होतीं जितनी कन्या पूजन से। कन्याओं की पूजन के बाद उपहार देकर उनसे आशीर्वाद प्राप्त किया गया।
मौके पर शत्रुघ्न गुप्ता, शिशुपाल कुमार, एंकर सावन, किशन कुमार, गोलू, रविराज, पं० दिनेश तिवारी आदि उपस्थित रहे। वही बी एम पी 6 दुर्गा मंदिर के आचार्य संदीप पाठक ने बताया कि आज अष्टमी का व्रत किया जायेगा और सुबह 7 बजे के बाद से जो लोग पाठ करते हैं वे लोग हवन अपने घरों में या नजदीकी मंदिर में जाकर हवन कर सकते हैं। हवन का समय सुबह 7 बजे से लेकर रात्री तक है ।
