मुजफ्फरपुर, सतुआनी आज, जबकि जुड़ शीतल शुक्रवार को मनाया जायेगा। पंडित प्रभात मिश्र ने बताया कि गुरुवार को सूर्य मीन से मेष राशि में प्रवेश करेगा और लोग इसी दिन सतुआनी मनाएंगे। इस दिन सत्तू और आम के टिकोले से पूजा की जाती है। इसके सेवन से शरीर को ठंडक मिलती है। वहीं गुरुवार को जुड़ शीतल का पर्व मनया जाएगा। इस दिन घर में चूल्हा नहीं जलता है। इसलिए लोग एक दिन पूर्व ही खाना बनाते हैं और अगले दिन उसी खाना को खाया जाता है। इस पर्व में बासी खाने की परम्परा है। यह पर्व मिथलांचल के मुख्य पर्वों में से एक माना गया है।
जुड़ शीतल जीवन की शीतलता का प्रतीक माना गया है। इसलिए मिथिलांचल में इस परंपरा को निभाया जाता है। दो दिन चलने वाले इस पर्व में पहले दिन लोग दाल की पूड़ी, सहजन की सब्जी, कढ़ी-चावल के अलावा कच्चे आम की चटनी, पारंपरिक पकौड़े आदि बनाते हैं। इस दिन देवी-देवता की पूजा करने के बाद ब्राह्मण भोज कराया जाता है। पूड़ी चने की दाल और गेहूं के आटे से बनती है।
