मुजफ्फरपुर, बिहार विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए तीसरे चरण की नामांकन प्रक्रिया मंगलवार 20 अक्टूबर को समाप्त हो गयी. अब आज बुधवार को नामांकन पत्रों की जांच की गई. जिसमे गड़बड़ी मिलने पर 14 उम्मीदवारों के नामांकन रद कर दिए गए. तीसरे चरण के लिए कुल 133 उम्मीदवारों ने अपना नामांकन दाखिल किया था. 14 उम्मीदवारों के नामांकन रद्द होने के बाद अब केवल 119 अभ्यर्थी मैदान मे बचे है. जिसमे गायघाट से 31, मुजफ्फरपुर से 28, कुढऩी से 19, औराई से 15, बोचहां से 14 व सकरा से 12 शामिल हैं. हालांकि अभी नाम वापसी की आखिरी तारीख 23 अक्टूबर तक निर्धारित है. इस दिन तक अगर कोई अपना नामांकन वापस लेता है तो शेष बचे उम्मीदवारों के बीच चुनावी मुकाबला होगा.

तीसरे चरण के छह विधानसभा क्षेत्रों मे हुए नामांकन मे सबसे अधिक गायघाट से 33 तो सबसे कम सकरा से मात्र 13 उम्मीदवारों ने अपना नामांकन दाखिल किया था. वही मुजफ्फरपुर से 28, कुढ़नी से 29, बोचाहा से 15 और औराई से 15 उम्मीदवारों ने पर्चा भरा था।
