मुजफ्फरपुर जिले में पुलिस कार्रवाई के दौरान जब्त गाड़ियां थानों में सड़ रही हैं। खुले आसमान के नीचे गाड़ियां रखी हैं। जगह न होने पर गाड़ियों को एक-दूसरे के ऊपर भी रख दिया गया है। अधिकांश गाड़ियां पानी व धूप के कारण सड़ चुकी हैं। सिर्फ लोहे का ढांचा दिखता है। करोड़ों की गाड़ियां नीलामी के बिना ही कबाड़ होकर किसी कार्य के लायक नहीं रह गई हैं।
जिले के सभी थानों और ओपी में कम से कम सौ से अधिक दोपहिया से लेकर बड़ी गाड़ियां जब्त कर रखी गई हैं। इसके लिए कई थानों के पास पर्याप्त जगह भी नहीं है। कुछ थानों ने सड़कों पर जब्त गाड़ियां रख दी हैं। जहां जगह है, वहां भी गाड़ियों को बेतरतीब ढंग से रखा गया है। उसपर शेड आदि नहीं है।
इससे हर मौसम की मार पड़ती रहती है। एक बाइक को थाना स्तर से छुड़ाने में तकरीबन एक सप्ताह का समय लग जाता है। तबतक गाड़ी में तकनीकी खराबी आ जाती है। इसका हिसाब पुलिसकर्मी नहीं देते हैं। मामले में एसएसपी जयंतकांत ने बताया कि जब्त गाड़ियों के रख-रखाव की व्यवस्था को लेकर समीक्षा की जाएगी। इससे मुख्यालय को भी अवगत कराया जाएगा।
सिकुड़ गया है थाना का क्षेत्रफल
वर्तमान में अधिकांश थाने के पास अपना परिसर है। नया भवन है, लेकिन जब्त गाड़ियों को रखने के लिए सही व सुनिश्चित जगह नहीं है। इससे जहां-तहां गाड़ियों को थाना परिसर में रख दिया जाता है। इससे थाना का क्षेत्रफल सिकुड़ गया है। शहरी क्षेत्र के सदर और काजी मोहम्मदपुर थाने में जब्त गाड़ियां सड़क पर भी रखी गई हैं।
वाहन पंजी भी उपलब्ध नहीं
हादसा व अपराध में जब्त गाड़ियों की नीलामी 15 वर्ष से नहीं हुई है। थानेदार तक को जानकारी नहीं है कि अंतिम बार कब जब्त गाड़ियों को नीलाम किया गया था। वाहन पंजी भी थाना में उपलब्ध नहीं है। बताया जाता है कि कोर्ट में मामला विचाराधीन होने की वजह से नीलामी प्रक्रिया नहीं की जाती है।
नहीं है थानों में जब्त गाड़ियों का सही आंकड़ा
जिले में 28 थाने हैं। हर दिन बाइक आदि गाड़ियां जब्त होती हैं। इसकी इंट्री भी थाने में रहती है, लेकिन किस थाने में कितनी गाड़ियां जब्त हैं, इसका डाटा पुलिस विभाग के पास नहीं है। एक थाने में 10 से 15 साल तक की जब्त गाड़ियां हैं, जिसका मालिक जब्त होने के बाद थाना नहीं आया। वैसे गाड़ियों की संख्या थानों और ओपी के पास नहीं है। पूछने पर थानेदार बताते हैं कि हर आईओ को इसकी जानकारी होगी। वे अपने केस में जब्त गाड़ियों की निगरानी करते हैं। संख्या उनके पास होती है।
