मुजफ्फरपुर, अगले माह सिकंदरपुर में बहुउद्देशीय स्टेडियम को तैयार करने का काम शुरू हो जाएगा। बुधवार को स्मार्ट सिटी कंपनी के प्रबंध निदेशक एवं नगर आयुक्त विवेक रंजन मैत्रेय ने कंपनी के पदाधिकारियों एवं चयनित एजेंसी के प्रतिनिधियों के साथ स्टेडियम का मुआयना किया। प्रबंध निदेशक ने कहा कि स्टेडियम का काम शुरू किया जाएगा। एजेंसी को तेजी से काम को पूरा करने के लिए कहा गया है।

काम का जिम्मा साई इंजीकॉन कंस्ट्रक्शन प्राइवेट लिमिटेड को मिला है। मंगलवार को मुजफ्फरपुर स्मार्ट कंपनी प्रा. लि. एवं साई इंजीकॉन के बीच एकरारनामा हुआ था। स्मार्ट सिटी मिशन के तहत तैयार होने वाला यह मल्टीपरपज स्पोट्र्स स्टेडियम आधुनिक सुविधाओं से लैस होगा।

यहां क्रिकेट के साथ फुटबॉल, वॉलीबॉल, बास्केटबॉल, बैडमिंटन, लॉन टेनिस, जिम्नास्टिक व जिमनैजियम की सुविधा उपलब्ध होगी। स्विमिंग पुल एवं स्क्वैश कोर्ट भी होगा। स्टेडियम में फ्लड लाइट्स की व्यवस्था होगी। सीसीटीवी निगरानी की यहां व्यवस्था होगी। सिकंदरपुर स्टेडियम सालों से अधूरा पड़ा हुआ था। मैदान की हालत भी दयनीय हो गई थी। स्मार्ट सिटी परियोजना से स्टेडियम के जीर्णोद्धार होने पर खिलाडिय़ों को न सिर्फ अभ्यास की सुविधा उपलब्ध होगी बल्कि बड़े मैचों का आयोजन भी हो सकेगा।
